FAUX FINISH WORKSHOP

Highlight of this class will be a full half day devoted to faux skies! this will be a great addition to your skills!!

This three day workshop is a Special Faux finishes workshop. It is given in a relaxed no pressure atmosphere. This does not mean that you won't work hard because you will. If you are new to faux finishing or a practicing faux artist this class will benefit you. It will give your portfolio an artistic edge with a lot of pizzaz.

What my aim with this workshop is to present a modern variety of desireable and unusual high end applications. Because they are attractive and high end does not mean that they are hard to execute. We start out with color theory. This enables you the artist to use appropriate colors for your clients individual needs. Then the painting begins.

• A fast two roller applied stucco.
• Metallics
• Texture - Skip trowel or hit and miss techniques as well as heavy textured European looks.
• Four toned Venetian plaster fashioned and worked to look like polished marble.
• Stone blocking with shading using the value scale for 3D look.Ideal for colors.
• Mural level bricks with shading and highlights.
• Marbles. One sample board will be a portion of a trompe l'oeil column with 3d shading and highlights.
• Woodgrain - mahogany.
• Fabric applications.
• You will get additional information on other applications and variations on some of these finishes which will bring the total number of finishes to over 16.
• Class is limited to 8 students.

We will also touch on measuring a room for a paint application. Securing and pricing the job. Thorough information on basic faux material and tips on how to use them. All materials are readily available in any locale.
